San Francisco!
It was an interesting night in the car, Bonnie slept on a hamburger, and I with my feet straight up in the air. Bonnie successfully jinxed us by saying that trains would fly by allll night long, luckily SHE slept through every one. I woke up in the morning to with a finger in my face and Bonnie accusing me of being the hamburglar, which of course she found later under her butt.
We drove on to San Francisco where I noticed the signs were weren't like ours back home. The street lights are just larger than oranges and only found on the far sides in four lanes of traffic. This means we are constantly playing Where's Waldo to make sure were in the right place at the right time. Also, you know when you look at the street signs to see what street you are on, well the signs here tell where other streets are instead, and offer a little arrow pointing in that direction. To top things off streets can have many names like: Shuttak, Henry, Sutter, and Saloma- which took us through a tunnel- (Under the round-a-bout which were suppose to be on).
We finally arrived at Geoff's house (Bonnie's brother) after urging my car up the mile long road the goes STRAIGHT up the hill. I didn't think my car would would make it up that 45 degree angle, but it has a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Well it'll be a fun trip back down the hill! No wonder people get in accidents when it snows here!

Our Night in the Car
Here we sit in my beautiful Grand Am as we lie dow
n to sleep and are stealing the internet from an unsuspecting local in Truckee, California.
n to sleep and are stealing the internet from an unsuspecting local in Truckee, California. So the schemes of the Nevada casinos successfully kept us at Circus Circus in Reno where we we watched Flying Trapeze Artists and the Amazing Acrobats of China. We gorged ourselves in an all you can eat buffet- where we happened to find chop sticks LUCKLY (so we didn't have to run back to the car like at last night's buffet). I'll tell you it's an attention
getter, but in these bigger cities, people aren't phased by the unusual like they are in Montana.

We stopped at a great local grocery
store in desperation for a bathroom, and though a rest stop was only 16 miles up the road, we REALLY had to go. The place was called the Watering Hole No. 1. It was a quaint little store that was clearly not as popular as the flashy Nevada towns. Inside we found a early 1900's stove, which we were told was taken in as trade for a man's debt.
Later down the road Bonnie spotted the most unusual monument, it looked like something out of the Adam's family. We got a good look at it from the road, but Thunder Mountain Indian Monument was closed for the season. Next time I guess.
I'll let you guess which picture is which.

A Journey on the Road
We reached Idaho, 130.85 miles later,
The weather was great though when we took a photo of the road- it didn't quite come through. In the photo it appears that we are in a blizzard, but rather we were enthralled with the snow patterns as it drifted a
round the road. Unfortunately we missed the Potato Museum, I'm still won
dering what we missed.
A great story:
While we driving we came upon an unusual hill that was brightly lit and struck our curiosity. While trying to figure out what it was, Bonnie shouted out in awe that it was a Giant Sledding Hill. It had two huge ramps that looked like slides... What a great idea! I turned to Bonnie with a big smile, ( though I must add I was disappointed that it was not this awesome sledding hill), and pointed out that it was a water park covered in snow.
Once we got to Idaho Falls we took a detour to re-energize! And what a better way to do it than laser tag! We found a Fun Center Called:

We are Currently experiencing Technical Difficulties and Exhaustion, we will be continuing this blog later.
Don't let me forget to mention that we, I mean I, got lost.
Continuation:
So we choose our laser tag nicknames, Bonnie was Clyde, and I was the Purple People Eater. It was a great get away- bonnie got a little fireman figure from the arcade, and I got a pretty purple pony.
It was a long drive to Elko, we got there around midnight, and crashed!
I forgot my pillow there.
Journey on the Road
We started off waking up and moving around slowly... So we finally did start planning our trip and splurged on a hotel in Elko, a town in Nevada, 532.4 miles away (I tiptoed out to the car to get this number off of my trip-o-meter). So we did in fact make it here!! We finally rolled out of bed and left Butte at almost 11, just before noon, though we meant to leave around 8am. So we were a little worried about making it to the hotel before checkout the next day.
So just before leaving, we quickly came up with:
Bad Idea:
3. Lets Bring one of the Dogs with us! ... our choices were
a) Boxer- protective family dog who doesn't know me very well, and has never left the yard b) Chihuahua- a white rat like dog who is deathly afraid of us and is not potty trained, or c) Hound/Mutt Puppy- never been in a car before, not potty trained.

The Beginning
We have no idea where we are going or how we are going to get there other than we are heading towards San Francisco, tomorrow (it's 6:15 pm
and we're both exhausted, aka we should really be planning our trip now but we aren't)! As a side Note: We've already come up with a list of Bad Ideas...

Bad Ideas:
1. Bad Idea Number One: (I found two buffalo for sale in the paper for $800) Instead of going to California by car we could buy the buffalo and see how far they will go!
2. (We bought a deck of water-proof cards) We could play cards in the snow, but wait we're leaving the snow for California... We could play cards while swimming in the ocean!
3. to be continued... (for sure)
I am looking forward to finding the Bush Man in San Francisco (look him up in wikipedia) I want to take pictures with of him, and as you may know he makes a living by jumping out of a bush and scaring tourists. I hope to scare him!
If you haven't noticed already, this trip will a fun, random, photo-filled, interesting, and spontaneous adventure! Bonnie flew in at 1:00 PM from Alaska, the only partially planned part of the trip. Though I wasn't sure when I went to the airport that she was going to be there, we hadn't quite talked that part through. But So Far So Good!
Coming attractions will be... well we don't know... So tune in next time because you never know what were up to.
Ps. I had to add that our last shopping list was the following:
- Highlighters- plural for plan A, B, C and the actual route on the map... (?)
- Deck of Cards
- Chopsticks
AAHHH... sorry the first blog got deleted somehow and I forgot to explain the chopsticks! So Bonnie and I have taken a vow and have sworn off Forks for this trip. (This was following our lunch out at the L & D Chinese Buffet in Butte). We have decided that spoons may be used but only in spoon appropriate situations, i.e. soup.
So We're off to the Atlas! Wish Us Luck!
