Gleneden Beach - view from the House

Flying Kites in Oregon

We couldn't have asked for better weather for the trip! Lincoln city is known for it's kites and competitions- well I'm happy enough to keep one flying, but our group decided to stop by the kite shop where we purchased kites of all shapes and sizes. The beach was just perfect for flying them all. In the air we had a twirling box kite, a mini travel kite, a frame-less kite (no backbone), and a stunt kite.

Thanksgiving in Oregon

This is our "Mayan" temple, built by Trevor, Pat and myself, it was just under 4 feet tall, and shortly after it's completion it quickly grew into a tourist attraction.
It is nearly 4 am in the morning, the only way I've thus far learned to create time. I am in the middle of trying to plan the next year of my life, I'll be leaving for New Zealand in February for nine months, and I'll likely be seeing other countries before my return home. Though I still have time until I leave it's difficult to believe how much preparation it really takes (Elections 2008, $,Taxes, $$, mail, storage, $$$, etc.). I've been getting a lot of support from family and two friends in particular, Melanie and Trevor. Thank you guys for everything! This big adventure will something else, and I look forward to the journey ahead of me.
